Casino Bonus Max Bet Rules: A Player Checklist

A casino bonus can meet its wagering requirement and still fail a different condition: the maximum-bet rule.

This rule caps each spin, hand, round or wager while a promotion is active. It is separate from the total amount that must be wagered and from any maximum cashout. The exact limit, the period it covers and the consequence of a breach are promotion-specific. There is no universal casino max bet.

Separate the four bonus limits

Judge a promotion as a set of conditions rather than by its headline percentage.

Find when the rule starts and ends

The promotion's current terms and account status control this answer.

A rule may begin when a bonus is activated and continue until wagering is complete, the bonus is cancelled or the offer expires. Casinos also differ in how they separate deposited funds, bonus funds and bonus-linked winnings.

Do not assume the rule ended because:

• the visible bonus amount reached zero;
• the progress bar appears complete;
• a displayed cash balance is now funding bets; or
• a withdrawal button became available.

Decode the maximum-bet clause

• Unit: whether the cap applies per spin, hand, round, wager or feature.

Regulated markets do not all use the same bonus rules. Great Britain's framework offers a useful, jurisdiction-specific benchmark.

The UK Gambling Commission identifies maximum stake size as a significant promotion condition and expects significant terms to be clear and accessible. It has also warned that terms allowing real-money winnings to be voided after an inadvertent staking-rule breach may be unfair.

Since 19 January 2026, UKGC licensees may not set a bonus wagering requirement above 10× bonus funds or combine more than one gambling product in an incentive. Those rules apply to UKGC licensees, not every crypto casino, and they do not create a universal maximum-bet amount.
